Week 2 - Matthew Mandel
This week we take a look at shamanism and how they can communicate between the human world and the spiritual world. In the case of Pa Lor once she puts on a red veil and she can communicate in-between both worlds. Many shamans have used veils as a way of commutation between the two worlds. For me, since I don’t know much at all about shamanism, it really intrigued me on how you can communicate by learning how to use a veil. When the shaman is in the state in which their body is still here physically yet their mind and consciousness is in the other world, the body tends to move along with what is going on in the other world.
Since I’ve come from a buddhist family I’ve never heard or seen this stuff before. Its very fascinating to read that people can communicate with spirits through learning the technique and proper training, anyone can really go between the two worlds. Its still hard for me to believe since I’ve actually never seen a shaman perform a ritual and see how the body is when they are in another state of mind, and that it moves along with how they are in the spiritual world. I also found it extremely fascinating in the case of Pa Lor how she can literally put on her red veil at any time and within seconds she can be in constant communication with spirits. This course will be a challenge for me as I’ve said before, the spirits are a touchy subject for me and learning about these instances are not normal.
Question: How C\can someone just travel in-between the regular/human world and the spiritual world, while the body stays here and yet can pick up everything that is going on subconsciously.
