Week 10 - Harry Manacsa

As a biologist, we adhere to strict empirical data collection. Therefore, it's hard to quantify findings for any spiritual anomalies. However, scientists have to admit that there are some forces that enable life to happen, because it is to create live in vitro. To tie back to our previous readings, I believe that there is a "passing of souls" through procreation, which cannot be synthesized externally. If there can be a way to study this logic, then perhaps we can give some scientific validity to spirit realm.
I predict that this can some in handy for studying cancer, in which a cell becomes rogue and defies its fellow tissues. Spirits might manifest in the mutations that arise in DNA or cellular communications. This orchestration is harmful, yes, but it will outline a dynamic with spiritual conduction. For example, HeLa cells are a cancerous cell line that came from a woman in the 1930s with breast cancer. The woman died from her illness, but her cells were harvested and are still growing today. Are the cells harboring the woman's immortal soul? To quantify this, we can look into how much the cell has evolved from the woman's original genes. If the cells are identical to their original source woman, then we might say that the woman is still with us.
We cannot study death, because where the soul will go is unknown. We cannot study birth, because we risk harming life of a viable offspring. There is plenty of controversy with studying animals, and perhaps they may convey strikingly different experiences from those experienced by humans. All religious and cultural influences aside, we need to study this from the standpoint of human experiences.
