In the article "You are here: locating spirituality on the map of the current medical world" by Parameshwaran Ramakrishnan, the author mentions more and more American medical schools have incorporated TCAM-related courses into their medical programs. The patient's demand for Spiritual care is also expanding. At the same time, the authors mention that increasing mental care services can improve patient satisfaction and have a positive impact on patients' clinical outcomes and alleviate stigma toward mental health services.
The priest's model mentioned by the author may be the best form of spiritual care. This mode is useful for measuring methods and treatment outcomes. These have been used and proven by scholars. However, there are still huge differences and gaps in the description of the shaman treatment. Personally, the spiritual care in the article is more about guiding the patient's positive attitude through communication between the pastor and the patient, and mutual trust.
Question: Personally, I have heard many incidents in which priest treatment conflicts with Western medical treatment. It has caused some tragedies that could have been avoided. Especially for places where some health care systems are not perfect. These priests may not have a certificate requirement or supervision system such as "HCMA". So how can we avoid these contradictions?
The witch doctor is named Va Meng Lee. He is wearing an embroidered jacket and has official documents. He was free to enter the patient room that was handed over to the clergy.
