Week 7 - Natalie Lortz

In short, Lanza has taken the concept that our world is limited to our own perception, and broadened that ideal to erase the validity of science. In my opinion, science is a realm of study well worth exploring. It provides thorough answers to worthy questions that apply to all living things. However, as Lanza echoes, science is most definitely not the all-encompassing answer. All scientific innovations, research, and questions are crafted by human minds. The human mind, while admirable in its crafted thought processes and analyses, is limited in scope and often forgets the fact that in the broad spectrum of creation and interaction on a universal level, we know nothing. This hard truth does not include the definition of the universe as in outer space, planet Earth, or even the cosmos. My working definition of the universe in this statement encompasses the culmination of worlds as all living beings understand theirs and the broad plan that directs their paths to or away from each other. It includes the overarching energy of the universe as a whole as it develops across space and time.

Science is very much real Initially, I interpreted Lanza's article as a critique on scientific reasoning. but, upon reading further, I realized that science is accurate because it truly is a reflection of human understanding of the world. He takes known "laws" of scientific understanding and expands them with the understanding that this is a whirl in information in our brains. Now, I understand the value of science because Lanza's thought process has included my own personal beliefs."Lanza states,  "We have yet to learn that physical existence cannot be divorced from the animal life and structures that coordinate sense perception and experience." Life is limited to our perspective. In this manner, the power we possess to create our reality is equal to that of the entity that creates all living things.
