Week 7 - Thu Cao
Do time and space exist?
Some people believe they do not exist, not really because we cannot touch, smell, taste or see. They cannot be brought to the lab for experiments. The others believe they are real because they can measure them, they can count them. I am not in any two groups neither. For me, time and space do not exist not just because they cannot be reached by our senses. Let’s take a closer look at the time. Our earth rotates in its axis in cycle. People just estimate how long it takes to recycle again then they convert it to the measurement units and they call it “time”. It is not exactly a day we have 24 hours and a normal year we have 365 days. Time is just a convention that people use to unify the frequency. If time exists, so I may say it is our consciousness. We are trying to convert nonexistence to a thing that we can see like a clock for example. It only the unit of frequency. And what is frequency? A repeat of a thing? Now, we are back to consciousness and perception which are belonging to mind. Mind belongs to soul. So, that things that belong to our consciousness will only exist in mind. If we think it exists, so it does exist. If we think not, so it does not. It is wrong to think that if we can use a visible thing to measure an invisible thing, so it exists, for example, clock and calendar. Here again, we are trying to make it conventionally, we are just converting our consciousness to a unit measurement.
Q: Which thing we can define, so it exists?
