Andrea Gomez - Week 8

Consciousness is a difficult concept to explain to someone who is not tuned to it already. But consciousness, being aware of everything around you, is especially difficult to explain when connecting it to spiritualism I think. Because when you are experiencing and practicing consciousness it leads you to question everything around you, everything in your life, and everything you have or will experience.

You ask what life means, what death means, what it means to be a good person. Some of these questions have easy answers, and some are so frustrating that you could ask them for days and still never arrive at an answer. Some questions hurt to ask, and hurt to consider. Thinking about growing older, death, what it means to age and die is a stark realization and one I find myself skirting around often. Being aware of mortality, and being aware of your own mortality is a type of consciousness that I don't feel ready to contemplate and answer just yet.
