Earth song
According to the author, the earth, nature, or any movement and creature around had their own voices and is keeping using it to sing their story into a song for us. And two ladies who study indigenous academic knowledge are trying to make an harmony with the earth song to achieve. They shared their stories of hearing the song and finding their way to sing harmony with it then finding peace or at least having a better time at that moment. They believed that not just the noise of wind or bird that we can physically hear is the earth song, but something we can only see, smell, touch, or just feel by heart, are also part of the song. In fact, I wonder what about the emotional voices of the singer? Are the part of earth song or not? Then, they described the process of them looking for the song to mix it with their indigenous teaching together. The process also involved the idea from the two ancient Greek concepts of mythos and logos. In the end, they discuss how silence works for the process of both them and their students to find the song and find their own story to respond to.
Also, I want to share a music video called Alive from a Chinese singer, Sa DingDing. She used to do some world music in both Chinese and Sanskrit. Alive is one of her most famous world music songs. The video I shared is the Sanskrit version, and in her Chinese version, her lyrics mentioned about her emotional movement while seeing silent fishes and eagles, which I think matches the topic of the article. The Chinese version is also available on the page I shared.
