Matchima Prasansin - Week 9

For week 9 articles, I really enjoy reading the article written by Frances Wyld and
Bronwyn Fredericks called “Earth Song as Story work: Reclaiming Indigenous knowledge.”
In this article, the authors addressed the idea of how songs can tell stories of people and
how it relates to their personal lives and spirit realms. They also explore how they
make a difference to the exploration into the spirit realm. They mentioned that,”listening to
the earth’s song and working with stories and informing their work in the academy – as
teachers who support younglings to hear their voices and develop their own songs, and
as the writers and tellers of curriculum” (Wyld & Fredericks 2). They argue that the integration
of academic work and indigenous ways of thinking can be a key contributor to the future
of spirit realm studies and their academic achievements. The article also points out that
we could hear the sounds of nature if we take time off and concentrate. I realize how much
I have missed this wonderful moment. In the world of technology, I focus more on what's
on the screens rather than what's around me. Nature can help me concentrate and be
calm. I can also take time off to do a self reflection about life. Nature is beautiful.

Question: How do some people obtain true peace?
