Feuy Saephan - Week 8

Our society is so accustomed to the way things are, that we sometimes forget to question why.  Or how does it actually work?  Maybe there is more out there we cannot comprehend or visibly see with our own eyes.  When this happens, many of us turn straight to science because we are taught to prove all mysteries with solid evidence.  Science is only one systematic way of understanding the universe, but most people forget about the use of our own spirituality.
Modern science can only explain to such an extent, but it cannot explain things such as “why the laws of physics are exactly balanced for animal life to exist” (Lanza p. 5).  Why do we exist in a world with different types of creatures?  Why was our specific soul chosen to be placed inside a human body?  As we look around, we find that our entire existence has a pattern.  It is created in the way flower petals are formed, or in the way our life cycles are structured.  Our earth was designed to have balance, but these are just a few of the various puzzles incomprehensible by science.
Thus, we have to clear our minds of the ways academia has taught us to think.  We have to reach outside of our perceptions and find the true values of reality, instead of having a narrow way of viewing life.  Our reality is nonexistent without us, or some living creature, perceiving it–and the way we perceive it further influences reality (Lanza p. 5).  With the help of spiritual guidance, in combination with science, we can discover a deeper understanding of the world around us.  We must first find acceptance and build room for both.
