Week 7 - Science Catches Up to the Spirit Realm - Ryan Tong

Everything that we have been told and everything we have learned, whether it is proven as fact or not, has actually been fabricated by ourselves. That is, of course, one way to view the world. It is important to consider that the information given to us, as is this viewpoint, is not given as truth.

However, let’s consider that the point of view from the paper is true. That the world given to us is all man-made. Much like an opinion, this can be perceived as true. But how much meaning would this give our life if this was the case?

In the paper “A New Theory of the Universe” written by Robert Lanza, Lanza points out that the things we have been exposed to are spoonfed to us. Lanza explains that, “Most of these comprehensive theories are no more than stories that fail to take into account one crucial factor: we are creating them.” But if this is the case, how can we live life?

The way I see it, is that the information we take in is due to different perspectives. There are an endless methods of interpreting different information. While one idea may be factual, it can be represented in different ways, and in ways that disprove the fact due to alternate beliefs. It is not whether one is correct and one is incorrect, but rather both viewpoints are valid.

If both point of views are possible to exist, then it is better to accept both and move along with life and the acceptances of both or more beliefs. Having said that, I appreciate both point of views and understand the reasoning to both the scientific and natural viewpoints.
