I study political science. This is almost entirely blocked off from the spirit realm, as they talk about governmental structures and political systems. And there is clear division between church and state, while that was put in place to keep people from discriminating against spiritual people. Today, it is used to keep religion completely out of government. Political science is an extraordinarily broad topic, as it talks about most everything. There are food politics, health care politics, and just about every factor in someone’s life. If spirit realm was discussed in political science it is possible that our culture would accept it more easily. This would mean that more solutions would incorporate spirit realm and all that goes along with it. However, it would probably have to start with a cultural change because culture is downstream from politics. This class has touched on political science in some subtle ways. There was the class on radiation that ended with advice to write state and national representatives. We’ve talked about globalism, racial issues, and the healthcare industrial complex. These problems all have political solutions, but again the only time that is relevant is when the culture is demanding a real change. I hope to see the spirit realm in more parts of life, as I go on.
Many top political leaders around the would have shamans they work with to help them understand how to deal with running a country, realm, village...It is just that in political science, they use power as a framework and do not feel culture is an important factor, though it's crucial. I love political science, but I believe it can only evolve if it's more interdisciplinary and less euro-centric.
