Week 10 - Pahuaja Thao
To incorporate the spirit realm into the field of nutrition, we will be able to see it move in the direction of not internal, physical health but spiritual and mental health. The spiritual realm does not just have to do with spiritual entities but a soul’s well being within a body. So with this, one of the big benefits that comes with integrating the spirit realm into the studies and curriculum will open up a new perspective of one’s health. It will make us see that one’s well being does not start with the nutrition they take in foods but starts from what goes on in our body, mind and soul.
The challenge of adding the spirit realm into the field of nutrition is that, nutrition is all science based. It is science from how we absorb our vitamins to how we obtain our nutrition. If we suddenly push this upon the curriculum and studies, it will be a sudden change to what they consider to be the norms. There is no science that explains the human soul and how to keep it healthy. This one reason is the challenge to changing their views of putting two unlike things together as one.
A way to gradually include the spirit realm to the the studies of nutrition is to make sure that they understand that in order for a person to be truly healthy, their mental and spiritual state are at health. From there, the introductions of spiritual healing to feed an unhealthy spirit in order to enable them to have the willpower to be able to eat right can change the views of those in the nutrition field.
Question:
How can we take care of our well being if our spirit and mental state is in self-destruction mode?
