Week 1 - Kenrick Chiang

When looking back at possible experiences involving different spirts, I never really recalled anything extreme. However, I do remember an incident that was somewhat creepy that happened 5-6 years ago. I was visiting family in Taiwan over my summer break and something that I usually do with my father was visit my grandmother's grave in the mountains. In the past, I never really remembered experiencing anything weird; however, this time, I thought that it was particularly strange after going back up and going down the mountain. I was listening to music on my phone and for some reason, the volume would always go down. I could see the volume going mute as if someone was pressing on the volume button, making the volume go down. This happened 2-3 times while going up the mountain; however, when we were all leaving and going back down the mountain, this happened more frequently (probably 10 times) and I was really weirded out by why this was happening. After this happening so many times, I sort of just gave up listening to music so I'd just sit in the car in silence. During this time, it felt a little bit eerie in which I looked around because it honestly felt like someone was sitting next to me that wasn't my father. This feeling went on for a good 10-15 minutes in which we finally got to the bottom of the mountain where it was more populated. After these events, I never really thought of it that much until I started taking this course. Even today I'm not too sure what exactly happened in that car, but it was definitely something that I've never experienced before.
