In term of Shamanism, mental illness is a signal of the birth of healer. According to Dr.Somé, it is a result of incompatible energies merging into the same field while the patients do not have any preparation or assistance to deal with these energies from the spirit realm. It leads them to have a mental disorder or behavioral disorder. To test the view of shamanic, Dr.Sométook a mental patient - Alex with him when he was back to Africa. After the healing ceremony, Alex became quietly normal while he had been done many unsuccessful processes in the hospital before. Dr. Somé, the witness of the healing ceremony, believe it is necessary for the sacred ritual to approach the mental illness.
I used to see a demoniac man at Church. The demon merged in the man body and could not stop shouting during the mass. I did not believe about the existence of demonization until I was the witness. I believe in people who are chosen can help to heal those patients. We may still doubt the mental healing, but doing something in hope rather than not doing anything just because we don’t believe.

Q: Can the spirit who merge into human body speak any language or they just speak the language of the people they merge in?
