Week 4 - Thu Cao
Shamans are mediums who have the ability to contact with the spirit world. They can see invisible things around us. They dance and sing a kind of strange language when they are in the sacred ritual. That is a part of their primary job. Shamans help people in the living world to connect with the spirit world. In Vietnam, they have a similar ritual process called “lên đồng”. I have never participated in this ceremony, but I have watched many videos about that on YouTube. The people in living want to ask their relatives who have died for clearing up with the hitch they have left back in this world. Sometimes, the priest can help people to find caveders. The priest will “len dong” to talk with the spirit to ask where is the location of their body. Those priests are called telepath “nhà ngoại cảm.” In general, we are living in a matter world where everything we can see, smell and touch or feel. We always use science to find a reasonable explanation for the phenomena around us. In the meanwhile, the spirit realm is the invisible world. We can only explain the mystery by the belief.
Q: why the shamans have never revealed how spirit look like? What they have seen in the spirit world?
