As long as we can remember, we grow up learning about the universe and why everything happened the way it happened. How did the universe form? Why did the universe form? How did the world become and evolve? All these questions are answered by science. As Robert Lanza was saying in "The American Scholar – A New Theory of the Universe," we need a revolution in understanding science and the world. It's becoming more and more of a goal to completely understand the reality of science and of the world. Lanza mentions how we are creating these theories and that isn't taken into account, which in fact is true. We come up with these theories as to why the universe was made for us. He states that "the laws of the world were somehow created to produce the observer," and knowing this leads to a theory that can better understand the world. But with science what cannot be answered is consciousness. Lanza discusses how we take space and time for granted and that could not be more factual. We as humans, especially Californians, are so face paced. Every day we are trying to squeeze so much into our days and trying to move as face as possible, but also assuming we are guaranteed a tomorrow. We take these concepts for granted when in reality they are fundamental and "are above and beyond human experience". So although physicists believe that there is a theory of everything, they still cannot explain consciousness with physical laws. The answer doesn't lie in physical laws, it lies in time and space, as Lanza argues. Physicists should be more open to the possibilities of tying in the concepts of space and time to explain consciousness. We are molded to expect science to explain everything but can science really be the answer to everything? There are things science are not able to answer and will not be able to answer, such as consciousness, however, people refuse to give up on that idea. They want their answers in black and white, but it isn't as easy as it sounds. Theories, that physicists come up with should not be the only answers we depend on.
