Week 7 - Yufei Liu

          After reading the article, “A New Theory of the Universe” by Robert Lanza, I wonder if the physical and mathematical explanation of this world around us that we are familiar with cannot sufficiently explain reality. People are constantly looking for explanation for things that is happening, time, space, and even our consciousness. What if there is no explanation or it takes much higher knowledge than ours to comprehend. Scientists can come up with various scientific reasoning for everything because humans are naturally paranoid of unknown things, for example, death. Because death is such an unknown field, science, religions are came up with explanations like the biological death, the loss of consciousness, after life, reincarnation... Essentially there is a theory around everything. But what if there is no theory or venting is far beyond our understanding? If nothing is proven why would the scientific world constantly look down on religions and spiritual beliefs? After all, we are all just insecure beings looking for an answer that comforts our curiosity and fear of the unknown.
