ray ruano: week 1

I am the best person I have ever met. I am a limitless soul currently in a flesh, blood, and bone vessel.

Over the last few weeks, I have spent a lot of alone time thinking, reflecting, and questioning myself and what my purpose may be and what the near or farther future holds for me and this three-dimensional world. In understanding myself and my behaviors, I must first acknowledge my privilege in light of the pandemic and chaos on earth.

In this covid-19 reality, there is both good and bad. These times have given us opportunities to work on ourselves and work on projects one may have deemed themselves "too busy" to begin or finish. While for some this may be true, others are struggling under dysfunctional systems of oppression such as capitalism and racism. To shed light on this, we must also acknowledge the place and effect of technology & social media during this time. While most people might have access to the internet to connect with others and the world through social outlets and news, there is misinformation and those who take the information from the internet at face value and fail to question it. In this new age of technology, there is a dis/connection-- while there is community-building & solidarity (love it!) online and beyond, there are also power dynamics in place while discrimination thrives as more hate crimes occur.

I keep hearing there will be a universal shift but will one be prepared? Whoop.

In the meantime, I will continue to meditate and re/connect with myself and work on my higher self. We must first dismantle the systems that hold us back in order to collectively dismantle the ones that currently hold the world stuck in time*.
