Yiran Ma Week One
Yiran Ma Week One
Since
the outbreak of coronavirus, the American people have changed their mind from
not cared about it at the very beginning, to follow the example of Wuhan to
fight against the coronavirus. As China and the United States have certain
differences in health culture, many Chinese people have begun to question
whether they should wear masks outside the house. In the United States, a
culturally diverse society, as in many countries, xenophobia, racism and other
problems can happen from time to time. Once there is a crisis, it is more
likely to happen. To make matters worse, in recent weeks there has been a spate
of hate attacks against Asian Americans across the country, some of which have
led to physical confrontations. This makes many Asian Americans suffer from the
double whammy of racial discrimination threats or various social pressures
while suffering from the fear of spreading the virus. In such a global
disaster, we should unite as one, instead of discriminating against us Chinese.
This is very sad for students like us. We should prepare more disinfection and
cleaning supplies and canned food reserve, remember to avoid going to crowded
places, pay attention to hygiene, wear masks, wash hands frequently. I believe
this global epidemic will soon be over.
Will sino-american relations deteriorate
under this virus?
