“There comes a time where silence is betrayal”- Martin Luther King.
In the article “Earth Song As Storywork: Reclaiming Indigenous Knowledges”, it conveys the importance of  beliefs and practices in academia to Indeginous women, and us as human beings should learn to accept their culture. The earth has a song which it sings to us and that we  sing to the earth and to all its living creatures. There are silences within academia to shut out this song as they believe that it is not trusted as logical nor can be proven a point. The academy tends to silence the youngsters of the next generation, but their voices need to be heard. Agreeing with the author, their voices could make a huge impact in the world we live in. It is a voice that can surprise others – particularly those who are all too often on the other end of anger and those who are not in our care. Now think about our oppressed Indeginous women, they are in the same position as the students and the next generation. If you decide to stay neutral between the oppressed and the oppressor, you have proven that you are on the side of the oppressor.
