The Conscious Mind and Physics

The conscious and unconscious mind has always made me think of ourselves more than just our brain with thoughts. When I think of the conscious and unconscious mind, I think of the way psychology views Sigmund Freud's perspectives on psychoanalysis that focus on the conscious and unconscious mind. He believed that that personality and the behavior of a person comes from the unconscious and conscious mind. Although we study a lot of the conscious mind within psychology, I believe the unconscious mind is who we truly are and what we truly feel. Sigmund Freud divided his believes within three sections, theres seems to be a connection between the unconscious mind, spirituality and science. Though our conscious mind has a lot to do with what we actually perceive such as time. Though according to the Reading for this week " A New Theory of The Universe" by Robert Lanza, he explains how time is an aspect of our conscious mind. Robert writes, "The uncertainty principle in quantum physics is more profound than its name suggests. It means that

we make choices as every moment in what we can determine about the world. We cannot know

with complete accuracy a quantum particle’s motion and its position at the same time—we have to

choose one or the other. Thus the consciousness of the observer is decisive in determining what a

particle does at any given moment." (Lanza) This part of Lanza reading caught my attention because

thinking about our actual reality I also come to think whether it's just our minds playing as a reality rather

than it actually being our reality. For example, when doing a drug such as a psychedelic, it shows you thing,

that you don't quite see when you are conscious so how are we actually processing such things when under

the influence? Does drugs open a portal for us to view more of our unconscious mind? I believe so. Some

times I truly believe that we live under a matrix but then again there not much to proof it. In other words science

seems to play a part as well in how we can see our conscious mind in which can give us a different perspective

that we can actually align with the way spirituality views our behavior and mind.

Are we really existing or are we just an allusion our conscious minds play for us??
