Linda Xiao-Week 9

After I read the assigned readings of Week Nine, which are focused on the topic of the future of spirit realm studies, I found Riyad Ahmed Shahjahan’s article “Spirituality in the Academy: Reclaiming from the Margins and Evoking a Transformative Way of Knowing the World” and “Earth Song as Storywork: Reclaiming Indigenous Knowledges” by Frances Wyld and Bronwyn Fredericks very informative and enlightening. In summary, Shahjahan’s article sheds light upon an interesting question; that is, why spirituality becomes marginalized in academic research. However, in summary, the other article is about every song that has the same meaning as telling a story. In comparison, I feel like both of the articles indicate kindness is a key word for the spiritual world. l also learned that through our education we learn more about who we are and how our spiritual world connects to us. Furthermore, when we need to learn to be kind to other people, this will help us maintain a better inner self and spirit. In my opinion, I believe that once we die, our spirit will still be alive and it will move on to a new place. So I think if we have a better spirit, then our next life will be better.
Question: Do you believe the spirit lives forever?
