Article: The Significance of Consciousness Studies and Quantum Physics for Researching Spirituality

Humans use sensual perception to derive meaning and understand the world around them. This scientific assumption led to the conviction that the human brain controls both the conscious and unconscious aspects of human actions. This premise ultimately explains why science tries to apply physical laws to understand the natural world. In this article, Walton argues in support of paying attention to the phenomenon of human consciousness as a product of the supernatural power. The evidence gathered offers a different worldview, which is different from the mainstream scientific research.

            The confinement of scientific knowledge to the limits of only observable and measurable phenomenon has significantly limited our understanding of the universe. The article summarizes knowledge about the natural world based on physical laws that rely on some unexplainable assumptions. However, this approach seems disconnected from reality. Any rational observer can see that everything in the world seems to follow some interconnected principles and patterns. For example, the Earth rotates on its axis in space; the sun, which is the source of light for the world, rises from east to west; all seasons seem to follow a predictable pattern. Science only explains most of these events with theories. However, in reality, there is a higher unseen force in control. Therefore, reason and logic alone will not provide the required answers.

            When considering the current problems, the spiritual realm has the potential to provide all the answers to our questions. The different worldviews should focus on revisiting different spiritual practices to understand the essence of universal consciousness. A higher power influences the events in the universe and this force is the originator of all living and non-living matter. Therefore, through spiritual interconnectedness humans may experience the manifestations of this higher power that has solutions to the problems we encounter today.
