Weiyue Lin- Week5
This week, I watched the documentary "Big Pharma Big Money: Documentary on the Money and Corruption of Big Pharmaceutical Companies." The documentary is a classic example of how pharmaceutical industries are selling fear from profits. It is an expose of that digs into the ingenuity of TV commercial adverts sponsored by Big Pharma. The contributors give their views on how today’s drug makers can go to the extent of manipulating and even creating diseases for the sake of remaining in business. They challenge the listeners on the question of trusting for-profit entrepreneurs with the manufacturing of drugs for human health. This is a pertinent question that should attract honest and humane discussions. The adverts that push people to their doctors and pharmacies are not only evil but stirs moral questions in the healthcare sector. The increased use of drugs inspired by adverts is a biomedical problem that can cause other serious health issues in humans. Bill Gates is the center of conspiracy theories in the politics of the genesis of Covid19. The proponents of the theories believe that Gates funded the creation of the disease for either of the two reasons: cull humanity through real-time surveillance and for profit purposes. He predicted that the world should prepare for an infectious disease more than nuclear destruction. The speech, coupled with his significant fundings on Covid19 Vaccine research, seems to validate the assertions of conspiracy theorists. After watching the Big Pharma documentary, anyone can easily side with the conspiracy theorists, especially now with several unanswered questions on coronavirus. Bill Gates may be an honest philanthropist who is ready to join the efforts with others to free the world from the yoke of the disease. Still, the conspiracy theories will linger until they are invalidated by alternative facts. Therefore increase in attention to herbals and other traditional healing methods may be informed by loss of trust in conventional drugs.
Question: If psychotherapy can be helpful in curing human diseases, is it true that these pharmaceutical groups have been using atheism to deny or even overrule this statement to deceive the world?
