Xieao - Week 8

The ultimate purpose of man's exploration of the universe is expansion.
Because people who don't have the spirit of exploration are all eliminated, people who do have the spirit of exploration keep reproducing, and then the question will be raised: why do people need to explore the universe?
From a practical point of view, the study of basic science will have a huge impact on future technologies, such as the creation of quantum mechanics and the development of quantum computers today.
We may not see the role of basic science in the short term, but we have to explore it.
I don't know what the ultimate theory of the universe will do, but I think it will be clear when humans develop techniques like interstellar travel, time stasis, and so on.
It is of great significance to study the ultimate theory, which is one of the most promising research fields in physics.
Three other fundamental effects besides gravity have been unified, along with the search for gravitons in the standard model (the particles that are supposed to carry gravitational interactions) and a grand unified theory that unifies gravity, which Einstein worked on in his later years but did not make much progress until his death.
The best candidate for a grand unified theory is string theory.
I believe that the grand unified theory will give a higher, more essential physical picture of the world, perhaps a more generalized GR and QM, which will have important implications for the way humans perceive the world.
