The film "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" investigates dimethyltryptamine (DMT) which is a molecule found in every living organism on Earth but is also one of the most potent psychadelics. It is often found in certain plants located in other, more rural, indigenous countries, yet it is illegal in the United States. Thus, why is it that something that is found in us is also extremely illegal?
This documentary also follows along the lines of the theme this week of a critique of Western Medicine and Healthcare. How is one to explain the intersections of both spiritual and physical health? If doctors are supposed to be healers, why can they not heal the whole person?
