Feuy Saephan - Week 4

It is often thought that science is a sure way of viewing and explaining the occurrences in our world.  Science gives people a peace of mind because it provides concrete evidence to prove why and how the world works.  Although, there are several phenomenon’s that are too difficult to explain with science, and this is when we must look elsewhere to find answers.

According to the Shamans, we are surrounded by spirits everywhere we go.  They have the ability to utilize their technique of connecting to the spiritual realm to acquire knowledge for the greater good (The Scientific and Medical Network pg. 2).  In this connection with the spiritual world, they can give guidance with knowledge and in healing practices similarly to scientists.  This knowledge is different from any knowledge humans are able to attain from studying modern science through the physical world.

However, these processes are not accepted by everyone.  People tend to only believe what the eye can see.  There are things existing in the physical world in which humans cannot see with the naked eye, such as air molecules.  We know it is there because we breathe it in-and-out of our lungs, but we do not have to see it to believe it. 

If we are given the options of alternate practices in viewing the world, and it is seen to be true, then why do we not give more acknowledgement in this area?  Once this is accepted by the common public, it may possibly be able to help us build towards a better future.
